A flat tape extrusion recipe needs a stated calculation basis before its percentages can be compared. A percentage of the complete batch is different from an addition expressed against the base resin alone. Buyers should identify every feed component, the denominator used for each figure and the revision of the recipe supplied for the trial. A familiar material name or a percentage written beside a machine model does not provide that information.
This guide explains how to prepare a clear material record for an equipment inquiry. It does not recommend a formulation, authorize a recycled-content claim or establish a processing window. Material suitability and machine settings require review for the actual product and proposed equipment.
Start by asking what the stated percentage refers to. It may describe a component as a fraction of the total feed mass, an addition relative to a defined resin mass, or the active content within a purchased concentrate. Those statements answer different questions. Keeping their bases visible prevents an apparently minor wording difference from changing the intended batch.
For a simple arithmetic illustration only, a batch containing 90 mass units of one component and 10 of another contains 10 percent of the second component by total batch mass. Adding 10 mass units to 100 units of the first component gives a total of 110; the added component is therefore about 9.09 percent of that total. Neither example is a recommended extrusion recipe.
Use one declared unit for the calculation and identify whether the figures are planned or actually weighed. A recipe total should reconcile on its chosen basis. If the entries do not reconcile, resolve the meaning of the figures before sending the recipe as an approved trial input.
List the base polymer, concentrate, recycled feed and any other proposed components separately. Include the supplier designation and material lot when available. Descriptions such as white granules or standard filler are insufficient for comparing trials because they can refer to different products even when their appearance is similar.
A concentrate has its own composition. Its addition rate is not automatically the final concentration of its active ingredient. If that distinction matters to the project, request the relevant material information from the responsible supplier and document the calculation basis. Do not infer active content from the product colour, packaging or a generic product category.
For recycled material, record the available identification and declared composition rather than converting an uncertain description into a precise percentage. Separate a supplier declaration from an independently verified result. Where information is missing, mark the field for review instead of silently treating the feed as equivalent to a previously approved batch.
The inquiry recipe describes an intention. The trial record describes what entered the trial. Keep both documents, linked by identifiers. A substitution made because a sample quantity was unavailable should appear as a deviation, with the identity of the replacement and the person responsible for accepting the change.
General preparation practice: assign a trial-material code to the proposed blend and keep the component labels, lot references and approved recipe revision together. At the preparation station, record the actual weighed quantities against that code so that the finished tape sample can be traced to the material used.
Record leftover or returned material separately from fresh components. If previously prepared blend is reused, its identity and known history need to remain visible. Do not count the same material twice or assume that an unidentified remainder has the same composition as the new batch simply because both were intended for flat tape.
Specify the intended tape width, thickness, winding format and downstream application alongside the material record. The trial decision should identify which finished-tape requirements were examined and which remain open. A successful appearance check does not establish all mechanical or downstream performance requirements.
When comparing two trials, state what changed. A revised material blend, different tape dimensions and a changed evaluation method can make a direct comparison misleading. Preserve the individual records and identify the differences before attributing an observed result to one component.
General review practice: place the approved recipe, actual material record and finished-sample label side by side during the trial review. Resolve missing links before accepting a comparison. If a sample cannot be connected to its material record, retain it as an observation with limited traceability rather than assigning it to a convenient recipe.
Any acceptance applies to the documented conditions and scope. It does not establish that all ratios within a broad material category are suitable, or that future feed from a different source will behave identically. Changes should be reviewed against the product requirements and the supplier's confirmed equipment limitations.
Zhejiang Kangjia Machinery Co., Ltd. lists the MY-FS5.5 Plastic Flat Tape Extrusion Line for flat tape used in woven packaging. Its product page asks buyers to confirm polymer type and any recycled-material blend. It also connects tape width, thickness and winding format to the downstream loom and finished-bag specification.
Attach the recipe basis and material identities to those requirements. Ask which material documents or representative samples are needed for configuration review, and identify any unconfirmed component information. The product-family designation does not establish one universal output, power requirement or material recipe.
The useful result is a shared, revision-controlled trial brief: what material is proposed, how its quantities are expressed, what product is intended and what evidence will support the decision. That brief gives both parties a concrete basis for discussing the line without presenting an untested composition as an established capability.
A: It is incomplete. State whether it refers to total batch mass, base-resin mass or another defined quantity, and identify whether the number concerns a purchased concentrate or its active content.
A: No. Preserve the planned revision and record what was actually used. Substitutions and quantity differences need to remain traceable when the finished samples are reviewed.
A: Approval should remain tied to the identified material and evaluation conditions. A different source, lot or declared composition may need additional review before the earlier evidence can be applied.
